LINDA SOKO TEMBO writes A MAN has allegedly shot dead his former girl and two other people in Lusaka’s Kanyamaarea. The former girlfriend died in hospital while the 2 others are still nursing injuries. Police Spokesperson  Esther Katongo has said  Clifford Choonde Shalom area allegedly shot and wounded three people among them his ex-girl friend who later died at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) where they were all rushed for medical attention,.  Ms Katongo said the matter was reported by a member of the public that the victim Barbara Sinonge 23 of Shalom area had been shot in the head using a pistol by her alleged former boyfriend. In a statement, Ms Katongo said that the suspect further went on to shoot the alleged current intimate partner of the victim identified as Mwiinga Kalozye 29 of Kanono area in KanyamaCompound who sustained a gunshot wound in the chest. Ms Katongo said that the suspect also shot Andrew Phiri 22 of the same area in the neck as he was trying to rescue the victims and sustained a gunshot wound in the neck. “The assailant was later apprehended and beaten by a mob and sustained head injuries. All the three victims were taken to UTH where the female victim Barbara Sinonge later died.  “The firearm used in the act has been retrieved with some empty cartridges and one projectile picked at the scene,” she said.  Ms Katongo said that the suspect had been admitted to UTH under police guard and was likely to be charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
