Before Magistrate Ammie Masoja was Gift Mushingwa, 22, of Kabangwe, accused of stealing 2,100 blocks property of Frank Kachebe. Particulars of the offence were that while at work on May 19, Kachebereceived a phone call from his neighbour Mr.Jones informing him that his blocks were stolen by unknown people. Mr. Kachebe told Mr.Jones that he was at work but when he knocked off he would rush there. When Mr  Kachebe went to his plot, he found that the blocks were missing from where he left them. He was told that unknown people went with a truck and loaded the blocks. Magistrate: Did you steal the blocks? Mushingwa: Yes. Magistrate: Did the owner owe you anything? Mushingwa pleaded for mercy from the court saying that he made a mistake and asked the court to forgive him. The court sentenced Mushingwa to six months imprisonment with hard labour. The Sun
