Police in Zambezi district have buried a body of a man only identified as Sachala who committed suicide by hanging himself using shoe laces in Chizozu area.
Outgoing Commissioner of police for North-western province Elias Chushi said the body which was in a decomposed state was discovered around 06:00 hours on Saturday.
He said the suicide happened between December 28, last year and January 1, this year.
Mr Chushi explained that police officers who visited the scene found the body in a decomposed state with a ticket for LG bus that identified him as Sachala who was in transit from Zambezi to Kitwe.
“Apart from that, officers found a black jacket, black shoes, greyish shirt and a cell phone at the scene while the deceased was only wearing a black trousers,” he said.
The body was buried at Chayana Village in Chizozu area due to its decomposed state.
