Man dragged to court for theft
RABECCA BANDA writes@SunZambian A Lusaka man has been dragged to court for breaking into a house and stealing property worth K41,000.Before magistrate Felix and was Derick Namupwika 25 accused of breaking into a house belonging to Mr. Shu.Dorothy Mwanza 34 of Meanwood said she and her husband Mr. Juojun Wang lived at the premises of AVIC international in November 2018.She said a friend to her husband Mr. Shu invited them to live in his house in Woodlands extension because he was going out for some time.She said they moved into the house in November 2018 and lived there for a year before.She said they found three singles beds, two mattresses and other items in the house.She said Mr. Shu later informed that he wanted to sell the house and they moved leaving the things the found.She said she and her husband locked the house, closed all the windows and locked the gate.She said in March 2020 Mr. Emmanuel Simupande a caretaker at the next house called and informed her that there were people living in that house asking if she allowed people in that house.She said Mr. Simupande asked her if she had allowed people to live in the house.She said she told Mr. Simupande that no one has been allowed to live in that house and the keys are still in her possession.She said informed her husband and together they rushed to the house to check what was happening.She said when they arrived and they found the gate open and four men and a lady living at the servants quarter.She said Namupwika told her that he had no where to live and because the house looked abandoned, they decided to stay.She said a water pump, a geyser, two tents, three single beds and mattresses, gas stove, six metal rods, gas cylinder and other items worth K41,000.
