Lukulu pupil drowns in Zambezi river
SIMON MUNTEMBA writes AN 18-year school girl of Lukulu Basic School in Lukulu District, Western Province has drowned in the Zambezi River after the boat in which she was in with other three female friends capsized. Lukulu district commissioner Kaumba Manjolo, who confirmed the matter identified the victim as Felistus Muzala from Kamwanya village of Silalo Chiefdom. Mr Manjolo said a victim who was a grade nine external pupil of LukuluSchool in Namayula ward of Lukulu met her fate when she went to buy fish. He said the victim who was accompanied by her three female friends was swept away by a strong current at   spot where the Zambezi and Lungwevungu rivers meet. The DC explained that the three others survived because they managed to swim.
