Livingstone youth urged to apply for funds
THE Livingstone Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Namakau Siyanga has urged youths in Livingstone to apply for various financial stimulus packages the government has announced. Ms. Siyanga told ZNBC News in Livingstone that time has come for youths to graduate from complaining to putting their ideas on paper. She said several youths have brilliant ideas which do not attract deserved attention because they are not written as business proposals. Ms. Siyanga cited stimulus packages such as the K30 million for artistes, empowerment funds under the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries for aqua culture projects and the Youth Empowerment Fund. She said money will not go freely to the youths and advised young people to form co-operatives and come up with business proposals that the government can fund. Ms. Siyanga said she will soon visit all the 17 wards in Livingstone with experts to teach youths on how to write business proposals. Ms Siyanga said she does not want youths to continue giving excuses and complaints when they have not made any effort to access the various stimulus packages the government has provided. – ZNBC The Sun
