By MICHAEL MIYOBAMTN/FAZ Super Division table toppers Forest Rangers has hailed the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) over its stance to resume games once the Covid-19 pandemic normalises.FAZ says it has submitted recommendations to both CAF and FIFA for the FAZ Super Division to be decided on the pitch.FAZ vice president Rix Mweemba said the league will not end prematurely as suggested by some clubs which believe that it wouldn’t be a good idea for the league to resume.Speaking in an interview, Forest Rangers head coach Tennant Chilumba said the Super Division should not be cancelled as suggested by some clubs because there are a few games remaining before it can be concluded.Chilumba who has made a huge difference at Rangers after he was fired at Kabwe Warriors recently said it would be unfair to cancel the Super Division because teams such as Forest and NAPSA Stars have invested a lot of resources to dominate the division.Chilumba said time has come for teams such as Forest Rangers and NAPSA Stars to play continental football after working very hard this year.Chilumba said the top three teams have done very well and deserve to represent the country at continental level. He said there are no big teams in the Super Division which has Forest Rangers, NAPSA Stars, Green Eagles and Nkana in the top four.“NAPSA have done well, Green Eagles have also done very well and have played continental football the past two years so if Green Eagles can play even Forest can play continental football,” Chilumba said.“If you look at the league the way we played, there is nothing like a big team, if Green Eagles managed to beat Orlando Pirates in South Africa, would you say Eagles is a small team? It is high time we competed in continental football because the whole point why we compete in the league is to play continental and to win the league,” he said.He noted that it is not a fluke that Forest Rangers are dominating the Super Division with 46 points, 0ne point ahead of second-placed NAPSA Stars after 25 rounds of games played.
