THE Prison Leopards FC duo of goal keeper Charles Kalumba and attacking midfielder Francis Zulu have received National team call ups to go into residential camp at Tecla hotel in Lusaka as National team coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic selects his 28-man assemblage to commence preparations for Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) games. Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wrote to request for the release of the aforementioned players according to a communique dated December 18, 2020 which was sent to the club secretary. The Zambia National team will be participating in the CHAN scheduled to take place from 16th January to 10th February, 2021. The duo have been impressive at Prison Leopards FC this season. Goal keeper Kalumba, who has featured in all the 10 matches played by Team Leopards in the 2020/2021 FAZ MTN Super league is one of the key players to have contributed greatly to the good performance of the team so far. From the 10 appearances, he has recorded 6 clean sheets and allowed only five goals. And Prison Leopards FC goalkeeper trainer Sitali Mulife has thanked his goalie for the well-deserved National call up, the well experienced trainer has disclosed during a telephone interview with PLFC MEDIA that the call-up has not come as a surprise to him because his efforts in goalkeeping department has always paid off in such a manner. He pointed out to the previous success stories in Namibia and Eswatini where he was so instrumental in grooming good goalkeepers of good calibre who used to receive National team call ups. On the other hand, midfielder Francis Zulu, who happens to be the first player to score in the ongoing Super league has equally featured in all the games played by the Correct Boys this season. From the 10 appearances he has made, the former Lumwana Radiants player has scored 2 goals with 3 assists added to his name. The duo have since left for Lusaka to join their colleagues from other clubs.
