KALULUSHI TRADERS GET FINANCIAL BOOST
By SANFROSSA MANYINDAKALULUSHI Member of Parliament (MP), Kampamba Chewe, has donated K 100,000 as revolving fund for traders at Luano market in her constituency.Ms Chewe, who visited Luato market which is the biggest trading centre in Kalulushi, said that government was trying to change the lives of the people for the better.She is also Community Development and Social Services Minister.The MP said that the fund would boost the marketeers’ businesses under the supervision of the National Traders and Marketeers Association of Zambia (NATMAZ).“Some few weeks ago, I had meetings with NATMAZ to address the main challenges Kalulushi marketeers are facing and among many issues discussed, low level of capital was identified as the biggest constraint,” he said.Ms Chewe took time to inspect the ongoing works of a new shelter under construction at Luato market funded by the Chambeshi Copper Smelter (CCS) as part of corporate social responsibility.She said that her office would continue lobbying for more of such empowerment initiatives from well-wishers and cooperating partners.She said that the rest of Luano market would be extended once construction of the first shelter was completed.Ms Chewe said that Government aimed at seeing everyone conducting business in a conducive and safe environment.
