By JACKSON MAPAPAYI A 57-year-old woman from the traditional leadership in Kalumbila district has been shot dead in cold blood in unexplained circumstances. The woman of Kakeza village was identified as Queen Kazeza According to North-Western Province Commissioner of Police, Joe Njase, the incident happened on Friday around 20:00 hours. “Kalumbila Police Station received a report of a shooting incident, which was reported by Alufunso  Kakeza by phone that his sister Queen Kakeza aged 57  of Kakeza village near chief Musele was shot dead,” he said. He said the woman was shot three times and that the body has been deposited in Lumwana District Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem. “No arrest has been made, but investigations instituted,” he said. In another incident, three people from the same family are battling for their lives in Solwezi General Hospital after sustaining multiple burns on their bodies. Mr Njase said the incident happened on Friday around 21:00 hours at Miranda Research Centre in Kalumbila district. He identified the victims as Obed Kajimanga whose age has not been ascertained, Patrick Kajimanga and Prudence Kajimanga aged five and two respectively. Mr Njase said that the incident was reported by Marvis Jatwa that her tenant and two children sustained burns after the house they were sleeping in caught fire. “The source of fire has not been ascertained yet,” he added.
