LUCY PHIRI writes A MAN of Kafue who was dragged to court for assaulting juveniles with hot wax has appeared in court to answer the sixth count. Appearing at the Kafue Magistrates Court before Magistrate KawamaMwamfuli was Charles Mulyokela accused of assaulting six juveniles with hot wax. Mulyokela of Zambia compound appeared in court with a case of assault on a child. The matter was since adjourned while waiting for some witnesses to recover from the burns. One of the witnesses, Rebecca Namwiinga, 13, of Zambia compound testified that on 11 March, around 19:00 hours she was outside with friends making wax, then Mulyokela came from nowhere and started telling them to stop making noise. He then kicked the pot of hot wax in the air and the wax porridge spilt and landed on  them. She said the porridge was so hot that she was admitted at the clinic for burns on her legs, face, back and hands together with her young brother. “Mulyokela came to us saying we were making noise, when we were at our house, he then threw a stone in one of the pots but nothing happened that’s when he kicked it in the air,” she said. Agnes Namfukwe, 33, mother of the children said on the fateful day she was not at home but at the market where she does her business. She said she was just told that her children had been burnt with hot wax by the neighbour and rushed to the clinic. She said they rushed to the clinic and was later referred to Kafue General Hospital and later taken to University teaching hospital UTH because one of her child was severely burnt. The matter comes up on May 14 for continuation of trial. The Sun
