JUDOKA Steven Mung’andu continues his individual training as he pushes for a place at next year’s Olympics event.Meanwhile, International Judo Federation President Marius L Vizer has sent a goodwill message to the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) president Alfred Foloko and fourth Republican President Rupiah Banda.In a message shared by Foloko, who is also Zambia Judo president, Vizer said he is delighted to learn that the NOCZ boss has recovered from injuries sustained in an accident and to now know that he is in good health and in great shape.President Vizer further sent his best wishes to President Rupiah Banda as he vigorously battles colony cancer.Foloko described the former President as a great friend of Judo and expressed that the whole Judo community would hold him in prayer, while wishing him a quick recovery.Mung’andu, is currently in South Africa having been in Zambia since June following the outbreak of the Coronavirus which disrupted his training in France where he was on an Olympic Solidarity Scholarship programme.On October 23 to 25th this year, he will be taking part in a Judo Grand slam tournament in Budapest, Hungary.The competition is expected to attract almost 600 judokas from 80 countries will be a qualification event for the Olympic games to be held in Tokyo, Japan. – NOCZ The Sun
