By NATION REPORTER HAKAINDE Hichilema is eliciting for sympathy from the electorate by making cheap accusations that the state is plotting to kill him when he is not even a factor, Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary-General Davies Mwila has said. Mr Mwila said no one wanted to kill the UPND presidentand that his allegations were baseless. “As far as the party in power is concerned, no one wants to kill him. Kill him for what? He is only saying this because he wants to get sympathy from the people as always,” he said Mr Mwila said Mr Hichilema comes up with the same wide allegations whenever elections were around the corner. He said Mr Hichilema suffers from election fever whenever polls draw nearer and would start making unjustified claims.. “We know these lies, they always come up when it’s election time,” Mr Mwila said. He said Zambia was a democratic state that allowed people to participate in a democracy favourably. Mr Mwila said the UPND leader had been losing elections since 2006 and wondered who would want to take out such a person from an election. Mr Hichilema claimed that there were schemes to arrest and poison him and later claim that he died of Covid-19. He posted on his Facebook page that the ruling PF was trying to kill him so that he could not contest the August 12 general elections.
