Govt assures ZAFFICO tenants in Kalulushi of Title Deeds
GOVERNMENT says it will soon issue the much anticipated title deeds to 300 tenants of the ZAFFICO houses in Kalulushi District, Copperbelt province. Community development minister Kampamba Chewe says following the development assured that no tenant will lose their respective houses from anyone. Mrs Chewe assured the affected families of government’s protection. ZANIS Kalulushi reports that the law maker said this when she addressed scores of residents and new mine owners, Ichimpe Zhonghuiindustries,  at Ichimpi grounds. Mrs Chewe says government is committed to uplifting the lives of people in the area while embracing investors. Following Ichimpe Zhonghui industries acquiring mining rights on part of the land where the ZAFFICO houses are located, an issue arose between the two parties over the matter. While the investor has demanded that the tenants vacate area, the tenants have refused to abide. And Ichimpe Zhonghui industries administrative Director Peilei Li says his firm has pumped in over 700 million US dollars to boost production. Assuring that his company will not evict any residents within the mining area, Ms Li says the mine will be producing cobalt and copper with over 5000 jobs to be created for the local people. Meanwhile Ichimpe Ward councilor Harrison Malunga thanked government and the Chinese government for empowering the people in the area with land and houses.
