GOVERNMENT HARMONISES THE FARMER INPUT SUPPORT PROGRAMME (FISP) Agriculture minister Mtolo Phiri has announced that it has now placed all farmers under the Direct Input Supply modality and done away with the E-voucher system. The Minister said having two modalities under FISP was creating unfairness. Phiri announced in Parliament that under the Direct Input Supply Modality, each farmer will receive six bags of fertiliser and a 10 kg bag of maize culminating into a total of 328,265 tonnes of fertiliser. Government will cater for a total of 1,024,434 million farmers. Before the modifications, famers in Southern, Lusaka and Western Province were placed under the E-Voucher System. And Phiri said because of the modifications in the programe, slight delays are expected for farmers in the affected areas.
