Galvanise voters, Veep urges party members
By SIMON MUNTEMBA VICE President, Inonge Wina has implored Patriotic Front structures in Lusaka Province not to be complacent but go flat out in galvanising votes for President Edgar Lungu in the August 12 general elections. Ms Wina has also urged aspiring candidates who may not be adopted not to ditch the ruling party as there will be always next time. Ms Wina said this in Lusaka yesterday when she called on the recently voted in PF Lusaka Province executive. She said there was need for the party structures to campaign vigorously to ensure a landslide victory in the forthcoming elections. “I urge you to campaign with love, peace and unity. There could be a lot being said about PF winning the next elections on social media but let us not be comfortable or have a business as usual mindset,” Ms Wina said. Ms Wina also noted with happiness that the new executive was well balanced in terms of age and gender, meaning that the party was still attractive and had a future in politics. She said the party’s developmental agenda for the country since ascending into office in 2011 should be the blueprint towards a fourth election victory in a row. Speaking earlier, provincial chairperson Kennedy Kamba said President Lungu was the committee’s sole and preferred presidential candidate for the party congress and general elections.
