FOREST HAS NEW ‘TENANT’
By MICHAEL MIYOBA FOREST Rangers FC have acquired the services of former Zesco United and Buildcon FC coach Tennant Chembo as assistant coach. Club Secretary Wisdom Musonda confirmed yesterday that Chembo has signed a two year deal which will keep him at the Ndola based Super League outfit until 2023. Musonda noted that the club is confident that   Chembo will do well to help Forest Rangers achieve the set objectives for the new soccer season. “As a club we want to participate in the ABSA Cup. We also want to participate in the CAF Champions League and I would like to assure our soccer fans that the club will achieve a lot. “We are happy to have hired a very qualified assistant coach in Tenant Chembo. We have faith in his abilities and we know he will do well with our club,” Musonda said Meanwhile, Chembo said he was happy to be back in his hometown as he seeks to help Forest Rangers maintain the standards set after qualifying for the CAF champion’s league two seasons ago. Chembo who had stints at Mufulira Wanderers and Lumwana Radiants before   ditching them , said he was looking forward to playing the two Ndola derbies against Zesco United and Buildcon. “The emotional derby will always be against Zesco because I spent a lot of time there and derbies are always tricky but we have to respect our opponents,” Chembo said. Following the appointment of Chembo as assistant coach it remains to be seen whether coach Owen Kaposa will be maintained as head coach after he replaced Tenant Chilumba who was sent on administrative leave in May this year following the team’s inconsistence which cost  the Ndola outfit a spot in the CAF interclub championships.
