By BUUMBA CHIMBULUFIRST National Bank (FNB) Zambia has boosted efforts to migrate customers to digital platforms as a way of ensuring safe banking during this period of the COVID-19.FNB Zambia Head of Retail, Kabanda Lilanda, said her organisation was ready to serve its customers safely and conveniently as the world instituted measures to fight the spread of COVID-19.Mr Lilanda said FNB had boosted efforts to migrate its customers onto FNB App, mobile and online banking platforms to help them bank safely and more conveniently.“Since the start of the epidemic, and in line with regulatory directives passed through the Bank of Zambia, the Bank has engaged with customers on the available digital solutions to reduce use of cash, decongest financial service centres and prevent the spread of COVID-19,” he said in a statement.Mr Lilanda said customers who needed to issue instructions to the bank to complete or initiate transactions should sign indemnity forms to assist the bank carry out instructions if they were not able to visit an outlet.He said customers should not crowd banking halls and at ATMs especially if they were exhibiting any symptoms associated with Coronavirus.“At FNB, we ask ‘how can we help you?’ During this time, we are committed to providing real help.“Therefore, we encourage you to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus by using FNB’s digital channels, including; the FNB App, Mobile and Online Banking to transact,” Mr Lilanda said.
