FIFA meeting postponed again
SUN SPORTS writes@SunZambianTHE highly anticipated FIFA meeting between the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and aggrieved parties in the electoral process has been postponed to next week.FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala says the virtual meeting which was slated for September 1st before it was pushed to October 30th but failed to take place again has been rescheduled to next week after Tuesday subject to FIFA conforming the communication.“FIFA who are the conveners of the meeting have indicated that the meeting will take place next week. We were unable to proceed with the meeting today as we received credentials from the aggrieved parties less than 24 hours to the commencement of the meeting. FAZ forwarded the credentials to FIFA but they were too late to fall within schedule,” Kashala said.“FIFA could not proceed with all the requisite formalities prior to the commencement of the meeting and therefore postponed it.”Kashala adds: “FIFA will formally communicate to all the parties involved on the details for the next meeting.”In statement issued by FAZ Communications Manager Sydney Mungala, the FAZ General Secretary has thanked the Minister of Sports Emmanuel Mulenga and the National Sports Council chairperson Patrick Mutimushi for having been ready to proceed with the meeting on both occasions it has failed to take off.FIFA had asked all the parties to provide credentials to the zoom meeting prior to the date of the caucus that was set to resolve all the wrangles revolving around electoral disputes in the Zambian game.FAZ and the aggrieved parties signed a truce on July 10, 2020 that culminated into a consent judgement ceasing all court matters in line with FIFA barring resolving football matters via courts of law.Honourable Mulenga presided over the ceasefire that paved way for a FIFA electral dispute resolution.
