By SILUMESI MALUMOTHE provincial expositions which were held from 2017-2019 have contributed massively to the economic growth as well as job creation in the country, Government has said.Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister, Christopher Yaluma, indicated that the expositions which were held in Luapula, Central, Northern, North-Western, Southern, and Copperbelt Provinces, had met Government’s expectations.He told Parliament yesterday that tangible benefits had accrued in all respective provinces.The minister said that a number of investors had invested in various sectors of the economy which would enhance economic growth.Mr Yaluma was responding to Mwinulunga Member of Parliament (MP), Newton Samakayi who wanted to know which provinces hosted the Investment Expositions from 2017 to 2019.Mr Samakayi also wanted to know the tangible benefits that had accrued to each province that hosted the expositions.Mr Yaluma highlighted a number of investments which had come in the country due to the expositions.He indicated that millions of dollars had been invested in energy, mine, tourism, education, and agriculture among other sectors which would change the economic outlook.Mr Yaluma said local and foreign investors had invested huge investment and most of the projects had reached 90 percent completion.“I can mention that a conference centre is being established in Samfya, revamping of Kawambwa Tea, manganese mine in Serenje among other projects have been done in these Provinces,” Mr Yaluma said.
