ERB warns against panic buying of fuel as normal supply resumes
By KETRA KALUNGA The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has warned against panic buying of fuel as normal operations by petroleum tanker drivers resume. And the ERB says there is no impending fuel price adjustment, contrary to speculations by the public.  ERB public relations manager, Kwali Mfuni says there is no need for panic because the country has adequate stocks and that normal supply has commenced. Ms. Mfuni said in a statement that regular fuel supply was expected in the country on Thursday following the resumption of normal operations by petroleum tanker drivers. She said regular fuel supply was expected to be restored in Lusaka by midday today and the rest of the country by Thursday. “It should be noted that the current disruption in supply was due to the industrial action undertaken by some tanker drivers, and in this regard deliveries could not be made as scheduled,”  Ma Mfuni said.  However, she said,  the ERB would like to reassure the public that there are adequate stocks of petroleum products in the country. Ms. Mfuni said to allow for a quick restoration of normal supply, members of the public are advised to buy fuel normally. She emphasized that fuel prices would  remain the same countrywide, contrary to speculations by the public of a purported fuel price increment.
