NOEL IYOMBWA writes  ONE person died while seven others including the driver sustained serious injuries in a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on 30th May 2020 around 16 hours along Musundu – Luwingu road in Kawambwa District.  Acting police spokesperson Danny Mwale confirmed the incident in a statement. He said that Kabs Mpundu believed to be a Congolese National died when the vehicle he was travelling in overturned killing him instantly. Mr Mwale said that the injured have been identified as KabambaMukendi aged 45 of Lubumbashi – Democratic Republic of Congo, RidenKabamba age not known of Ndola District and Mulenga Mulenga aged 21. “Others are Kennedy Chileshe age not known, Joseph Chanda aged 40, and Simon Muyambo aged 22 all of Mansa District. “The accident happened when the driver of the Scania truck registration number AJE 3944 identified as Abel Mulenga, aged 24, of LuwinguDistrict failed to negotiate a curve due to excessive speed and in the process lost control of the vehicle causing it to overturn,” he said. He explained that the body of the deceased is lying in the same hospital Mortuary awaiting post mortem and the motor vehicle is extensively damaged. Meanwhile, in another incident, a Taxi driver of Kapiri Mposhi district had his unregistered car, a Toyota Plaz, stolen whilst parked at a funeral house. Mr Mwale said that the Taxi driver identified as Imagine Siatwenda, aged 28, of Soweto Compound in Kapiri Mposhi is suspected to have been poisoned with unknown substances after being booked and later found himself dumped in Kabwe.
