Choma man in court for alleged inappropriate touching of girl

MULENGA MUSONDA writes A 56-YEAR-OLD man has been docked in the Choma Magistrates Courts on allegations of inappropriately touching a 12 years old girl. In this matter Alfred Siabalengu of Muzeta Farms is charged with indecent Assault on a female contrary to the Laws of Zambia. It is alleged that Siabalengu unlawfully without cause indecently Assaulted a female . The incident is said to have happened on the June 12,  2020 in Choma. The Senior Citizen who said he only gathers firewood for a livelihood confirmed being apprehended on the same day. When he appeared for plea before Senior Resident Magistrate IdahMupemo, the accused person  stood with aplomb in the Dock as he distanced himself from the allegations. Court: Have you understood the allegations against you? Siabalengu: Yes Court: Do you admit or deny the charge? Siabalengu: I deny Court : I record a plea of not guilty. Siabalengu: Yes, I’ve denied. After recording a plea of not guilty the Court adjourned the matter to a later date after State Prosecutor Pearson Chilumbu made the application. The matter will come up on 10 July 2020 for commencent of trial and the state indicated that 3 witnesses will take the stand. Siabalengu was remanded in custody. The Sun
