CHITOTELA PREDICTS 65P.C. LUNGU VICTORY
By SIMON MUNTEMBA PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu will win this year’s Presidential elections with about 65 percent because of the unprecedented development that he has scored, Tourism and Arts Minister Ronald Chitotela has predicted. Mr Chitotela said President Lungu deserved a second term because he had proved a capable leader even under difficult conditions such as the Covid-19 pandemic. He said this yesterday in Lusaka when he featured on the PF interactive forum. The Minister predicted that the President would win with a wider margin. “President Lungu will definitely win this year’s elections with about 60 to 65 percent because of the unprecedented development he has scored,” Mr Chitotela said. The minister said President Lungu has handled the Covid-19 pandemic well and had not closed borders. He said that there were a number of developmental projects that had been rolled out across the country under the stewardship of President Lungu including the roads and flyover bridges among others. He said contrary to insinuation by the opposition, there was no wind of change in the country. “Wind of change comes with the mass movement, and the masses want PF under President Lungu to continue. “For example, we have seen for the first time about six chiefs in Southern Province supporting what PF is doing. This shows there is no wind of change,” he said. Mr Chitotela urged Zambians to ignore ‘scared individuals’ who were trying to mislead voters through using President Lungu eligibility debate. He said PF was a democratic party as evidenced by the peaceful manner it conducted its intraparty elections. He condemned the opposition UPND for not only hacking but shooting each other during its adoption process. Speaking earlier, PF media director, Sunday Chanda called on the UPND members that were being victimized by senior members to join the ruling party where they would find peace and love. Mr Chanda said the Zambia’s economy was on its road to recovery.
