CHIMWEMWE INDEPENDENT MP IN TROUBLE?
By ROGERS KALERO FORMER Chimwemwe Member of Parliament (MP) Mwila Mutale is facing an uphill battle to campaign in the constituency as an independent candidate because the ground is hostile for him and has now resorted to insulting supporters of ruling party candidate Allen Banda, PF supporters have charged. Aaron Sakamba, of Chimwemwe in Kitwe, said the ground for the former MP was hostile because he had failed to deliver development and so he had chosen to be provocative to Mr Banda’s supporters. But when contacted for a comment, Mr Mutale rubbished the allegations and described Mr Sakamba as a political nonentity not worth following. In an interview, Mr Sakamba and other supporters told the Daily Nation that Mr Mutale and his followers had been insulting them, but they had continued to ignore him “This Mwila Mutale has realised that the ground is hostile for him and is slowly smelling defeat and has started following the supporters of Mr Banda to insult them from their homes. He would come and park at the gate of my house and then start insulting me.
