Chikankata Farmershappy with new floor price Farmers in Manyoonyo farming block in Chikankata District of southern province have welcomed the just announced K150 floor price for 2020-2021 crop marketing season.Dougkous Kumar a farmer from block the says the K150 per 50 kg bag of maize is welcome as it will make farmers realize good money. ZANIS reports that Mr Kumar says farmers in Manyoonyo are so delighted with the development announced by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) . And another farmer Lackson Magwaza also expressed gladness with the new floor price announcement by the FRA describing it as good development. Further thanking President Edgar Lungu for another bumper harvest this 2020-2021 farming season, Mr Magwaza advised called on government to deliver this year’s farming inputs promptly to ensure another bumper harvest during the 2021-2022 farming season. The FRA this early week announced that it will buy white maize at the price of one hundred and 50 Kwacha per fifty-kilogram bag. Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka, Tuesday, FRA Board Chairperson Kelvin Hambwezya said this translates into a 45 percent increase from last year’s price. – ZANIS
