JOHN KOMBE writes@SunZambianThe Chongwe magistrate court has set October 10 as commencement date for the trial of a 28 year old caretaker of Chipaya village in Chongwe who is accused of stealing livestock and cash, the property of his employer.This is a matter in which Isaac Sikaonga appeared for mention before Chongwe magistrate Majory Saasa. He is charged with theft by servant contrary to Section 272 and 278 of the penal code, Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia. He earlier denied the charge when he took plea.Particulars of the offence were that on November 11, 2019 in the district of Chongwe the accused is alleged to have stolen 102 goats, 149 sheep, 11 cows, 100 chickens, a carpentry Saw and K500.00 cash. The property and money is said to belong to Bryson Chellah his employer.The value of the property was K262, 120.00.The court adjourned the matter to October 10 for commencement of trial while the accused is remanded in custody.
