BUFFALOES, HURRICANES FACE OFF IN CLASH OF TITANS
By MICHAEL MIYOBA GREEN Buffaloes basketball coach Isaiah Kambidima has declared his charges ready for today’s Midlands Basketball Association (MBA) clash of the titans against Napsa Harricanes in a Week-7 game at NASDEC. Kambidima said Buffaloes is not intimidated playing Hurricanes who are unbeaten and dominate the MBA league table with 12 points from six games. Kambidima said Buffaloes have prepared adequately for the tie and are looking forward to emerge victorious to dislodge Hurricanes from the summit. “We are not intimidated. We have played Napsa before though we haven’t met them this year. We will be meeting for the first time and it’s a very important game for both teams and we just have to make sure that we carry the day and go on top. “Everyone is looking forward winning the game. We have one or two star players who’ll  help us win but as a team we are focused and we have to make sure that we win games like these ones if we are to win the league this season,” Kambidima said. “We had a good run which we feel we have to continue from where we ended. This year we started well by winning the Munali International Tournament so we want to build from there and our main aim is to win the league and the national championship and qualify for international club championships,” he said. A win over Hurricanes will propel Buffaloes to 13 points while Hurricanes may open a three-point lead at the summit. Meanwhile, after starting the league on a shaky not with six straight losses, Nishati Denvers will seek redemption when they host Bulldogs while struggling KSM Giants host Matero Magic who are also aiming to protect their unbeaten record. Tomorrow, Munali Suns will lock horns with Hawks as Heroes Play United face LCC Looters. Unza Pacers will face Matero Warriors with one aim, to maintain their winning streak after beating Looters 83-65 in the last game. In the feminine MBA League, leaders Dolphins will host Unza Honeys while Magic Sparks will play City Falcons in another dicey game at NASDEC. Nishati Shells will face off with Napsa Breeze at the same venue.
