Boy (14) laments stealing oversized shirt
MULENGA MUSONDA writes@sunzambianA FOURTEEN year old Boy admitted to the Court that after stealing a shirt, he discovered that it was too big for him to wear and he decided to sell it at K20.In this matter, the juvenile has been dragged to the Choma Juveniles Court charged with Theft contrary to Section 272 of the Penal Code of Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.It was alleged that the teenager stole one Shirt and Jeans trousers all valued at K235 the property of Lubinda Mubita.The alleged incident is said to have happened on October 18 in Choma District of Southern Province.When he appeared for plea before Magistrate Muyambango Munukayumbwa, the Juvenile offender without coercion admitted the allegations levelled against him compelling the Court to enter a plea of guilty.In admitting the offence the Boy stated that he only stole the shirt and not the trousers.“I only got the shirt which I wanted to be wearing, but unfortunately it was too big for me so I sold it at K20,” he said.Magistrate Munukayumbwa adjourned the matter to a later date for facts and social welfare report after Public Prosecutor applied for an adjournment.The Police bond for the boy was extended.
