By KETRA KALUNGAPolitical parties that have contested the Kaumbwe parliamentary by-election should the outcome, including defeat for those will not be successful, Chieftainess Mwanjabantu of the Senga people of Petauke district in Eastern province.And the traditional leader bemoaned a few incidents of violence that took place in her chiefdom during the election campaigns.Chieftainess Mwanjabantu said in an interview that political parties that would not win by-elections should accept defeat for peace and unity to continue prevailing in Kaumbwe constituency and the country as a whole.“I don’t want the violence that took place during the campaigns to continue even after the elections, I don’t want people to fight, no, those who will lose should accept defeat,” she saidThe traditional leader has also called on the political party that would win the Kaumbwe by-election to ensure that they bring the much-needed development to the area.She urged political parties in the country to co-exist with or without elections because they shared the same goal of developing the country.Chieftainess Mwanjabantu further urged political parties to desist from provoking one another through the use of hate speech.
