Abandoned mom cries

ROGERS KALERO writes@SunZambianA 26-YEAR-OLD mother of triplets in Kitwe is appealing for help from well-wishers after a man who impregnated her allegedly abandoned her.The woman is now faced with the responsibility of looking after the children.Faides Nkhata said she has been left with the responsibility of looking after the triplets after the man who impregnated her left on the pretext of going to look for either employment or business.The woman of Mulenga Township, explained that she stays with her mother and had a casual relationship with a man, who could not be traced after she gave birth. The triplets are now two months old.Ms Nkhata said more than one month had passed from the time the father of the triplets left and whenever she tried to call him, the phone was unable to go through, a situation which worry on how she would look after the triplets.She said she was struggling to buy baby powder and diapers and food for herself.“I am in a difficult situation because I gave birth to triplets whose father is nowhere to be seen and his phone is off. I really don’t know what to do because it is a huge task for me to baby milk, baby powder, diapers and others things which are needed.“This is the reason why I am appealing to well-wishers to help me in any way to support these triplets. I really need help and I will be grateful,” Ms Nkhata said.Janet Nkhata, the grandmother of the triplets, said she had approached Kitwe businessman and politician Kelvin Chipili to help her daughter find a way of looking after the triplets.She said Mr Chipili had assured her of some support to the triplets.“I met Mr Chipili and he told me to call him on Tuesday so that we discuss how best he can help my daughter. I know him and I am sure he will be able to help me in any possible way,” Ms Nkhata said. And when contacted, Mr Chipili said he had met Ms Nkhata and said he would find a way of helping her look after the triplets. “A problem has risen and what is needed now is to find a solution to this problem instead of calling the mother of the triplets all sorts of names. So let’s talk about how we will help this young mother to look after her triplets “As a businessmen and politician, I will try in my small way to help this young mother to look after her triplets. We all have the responsibility of helping those in need in our communities,” Mr Chipili said. The Sun
