99% TEACHERS IN DEBT – SURVEY
By Seniya Banda A   survey has revealed that 99 percent of teachers are in debt, the National Action for Quality Education in Zambia  has said. Revealing its findings during a press briefing, organisation executive director Aaron Chansa  indicated that most teachers owe financial institutions huge sums of monies, a situation which has been described as worrying. Mr Chansa has since disclosed that the organization has embarked on a campaign on financial literacy to educate teachers on finance management to avoid finding themselves in debt. He says the project will be carried out in schools countrywide and it will be done for the next two years. Meanwhile,  Mr Chansa has called on government to honor its word of ensuring that debt that civil servants owe financial institutions is cleared.
