By KALOBWE BWALYAABOUT 85 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the last 24 hours out of 2, 050 tests that were conducted, Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Kennedy Malama has said.Dr Malama disclosed that Lusaka recorded the highest with 48 cases followed by Luashya with 10 cases, but no death was recorded.Dr Malama said this in Lusaka yesterday during the Covid-19 update and that seven patients have been discharged from Covid isolation centers.Dr Malama however urged the public to continue masking up if the battle was going to be won and urged everyone to ensure they observe social distancing and hand sanitizing.Meanwhile, the republic of Korea has donated test kits and face masks worth US$200,000 in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.DO Bong- Kae ambassador of the Republic of Korea said Korea is pleased to provide Zambia with the COVID-19 kits to help government‘s national response towards the pandemic through the partnership with World Health Organization (WHO) . Mr Kae said Korea also donated 50,000 disposable face masks last month, adding that the donation was the concrete example of Korea’s strong partnership and solidarity with the government and people of Zambia.He said Korea would continue collaborating with Zambia’s public health response to the pandemic and pave way for further collaboration between the two countries in building back better.
