3 Lusaka men in court for stolen property worth K48,000
Rabecca Banda writes @SunZambian Three Lusaka men have been dragged to court  for stealing property worth K48,000. Appearing at the Lusaka magistrates court before magistrate Chinunda Chiwaula was Mumba Himantanga 34 of makeni villa, Louis Ngwenya  a house keeper of garden house and Nathan Nkushomi 27 of Makeni Villa charged with one count of theft contrary to the laws of Zambia. Particulars of the offence were that the three on dates unknown but between March 2020 and December 2020 jointly and whilst acting together did steal floor tiles, walls tiles, curtains and other items worth K48,000 property of Kelvin Ngandu. Magistrate: Did you get the items listed as per indictment? Ngwenya: Yes, but not everything. Nkushomi: I did not get everything. Magistrate: What did you get and why? Was the owner owing you anything? Ngwenya: I got five boxes of wall tiles and four boxes of floor tiles.  The owner did not owe me anything. He said he had pressure which led him to steal and sell the items. Nkushomi said he got four boxes of floor tiles only. He said his child was sick and the money he was receiving was not enough to cater for all the medical expenses. He said he sold the tiles and bought medicine for his child. The court adjourned the matter before fixing of trial date in respect of Himantanga and facts in respect of Ngwenya and Nkushomi.
