By SENIYA BANDA THIRTEEN people in Lusaka have been convicted and fined for operating pharmacies illegally. They were operating without Certificates of Registration from the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority contrary to Section 14(1) of the Medicines and Allied Substances Act (3) of 2013. ZAMRA Senior Public Relations Officer Christabel Iliamupu said two suspects pleaded not guilty and their cases have been adjourned. And Ms Iliamupu said ZAMRA will continue working with other relevant authorities in ensuring that they curb the illegal operation of pharmacies. Ms. Iliamupu says illegal pharmacy operation is a serious offence as it borders on the health of people.
